'Blog Comments'

1.
What do you think of our blog?

What do you particularly like about it? What's especially impressive?

What could be improved? What's missing or could be added?

2.
Based on what you've read on the blog (and maybe seen in test screenings in class) what suggestions do you have regarding what we could do to make our Practical Production really successful?

What other things could we include in the production?

How should we go about filming any remaining scenes or editing the footage during post-production (+ suggestions for music, etc.)?

1. I like the colours of the blog and the video links as that makes the blog more appealing to view and interesting. There is also detailed, relevant background research on films of the same genre which proves beneficial to your production.

I think to improve it you could post up more detailed plans of what you will be doing the next week.

2. For post production you could use parallel music which therefore compliments the action taking place and for murder scenes use dramatic music to shock the audience.

1. I like the way that you have adapted your blog e.g.(the colour scheme) to the gangster film genre and i like the way you have posted some of your film clips up e.g 'Whiskey's Mock Up Flashback'.

2. You could possibly add things such as photos of the places you've visited/ filmed at, and some of the sound tracks that you are going to use.

3. You could include a range of settings for your production.

4. As the genre of the film is gangster i think that your editing should be reasonably fast paced , to keep the audience on edge.

Overall i thought 'Whiskey's Mock Up Flashback' was really entertaining to watch.

your blog looks really nice with a lot of video research and good detailed plans, the blog looks really nice with matching colours with the movie that ur doing, colours like red which is blood and black horror.
the really impressive thing about your blog is that u put up scenes of ur movie, so we can see what you are doing and how far u got in filming.
the filming looks good but for the lighting used u might more light because it looks really dark in some scenes and use music which is used in horror movies rock music or slower music, and for the scenes when hitting Vivek use low key lighting.
aprt form that it's good what u've done so far.
good luck for the production,
Lamia

1. The whole page set up goes well with your theme and the clips make it more appealing.

2. Your edited clips look good too but like Zeb said it would have been better if we saw vivek's reaction to the other guys entrance.

Good Luckk..

* Your blog looks really good, and the footage you have edited so far looks good lol.
You have done a lot of research on film similar to your genre. And the colours you have used go well with the genre.

* don’t think you could improve anything. Thought the whiskey mock up flash back was good.

* Just add a few pictures of places you have filmed and what music your gonna use
Keep up the good work:)

* The blog looks good, good use of colours as the red connotes a lot of danger which fits well with your production

* I think that the footage posted up of the mock up scene looks very professional showing this production toooo bee guddddddddd...

* From the mock up in one scene you can hear the music louder than what kabir is saying... also you need to consider the lighting when shooting

* Overall, good acting and good luck...

- Impressive blog. What stands out most obviously is the fact that you’ve taken it upon yourselves to start editing early (even if they are mockups) and post them on your blog. I think its really good as it really shows how much thought you’ve put in to it and how much you are progressing. To make your mock up posts more beneficial to you why not try and encourage others to comment and offer advice on them. I was a little sceptical when I first heard you guys would be acting in it your selves. But all of you have done some GREAT acting. Kabir is proper psycho!... suits him.

- In terms of what you could improve I think that there should be a few more posts from other group members as most of the recent posts seem to be done by Deep.

- Its pretty obvious that you guys know what you are doing as you’ve got a range of shots and have used some good techniques e.g. the glass.
On the scene where Vivek is the victim I think you should have a few more close-up shots of his face to demonstrate and emphasise his distress. Possibly show a close-up of the side of his face with sweat beads… and heavy breathing/ heartbeat?? Good use of the contrapuntal music in that scene too… works well… reservoir dogs right?
With Kabir’s scene the setting the dark setting is effective… but it gets a little too unclear when he talks directly at the camera… possibly review that part.

Good luck with everything and well done…

*Your blog looks wicked. You can see straight away that you have put a lot of research into your work and you know exactly what your doing.
*Maybe you could describe the locations where you have shot your scenes and explain why they were chosen?
(You pov clip of kabir hiting dah person was heavyy!!)
*For post production you should use different rage of music. Try n use parallel music as well as the contrapuntal music yo have included.
Good luck for post production

The blog looks really good, even the red n black creates a really mysterious effect!

The footage so far looks wicked!! even tho i feel sorry for vivek, it does look professional especially as you've already started editing it..

The scene with kabir laughing like a mad man is great..but its abit unclear so it doesnt look to good! But the background works well, as its dim and isolated..

I think the colours used are good as they go with the theme of your production and also you have got all your research done so you’re up to date. So far, your blog shows that you know what you’re doing and everything seems well planned out so well done.
From the test screening, I think you’ve done really well, I love the music- it goes so well with the shots and makes the scenes really powerful. However, I think you need to consider the lighting a bit more. Also, when Kabir is talking, it’s not very clear, but I think you all acted really well, and Kabir looks bare creepy lol

I really think you just need to sort out the lighting and that’s it really overall, I think your idea is really good and what I’ve seen so far is good.

Your blog looks really good! Your updating people really well, with the progress reports.
I really like your background colour, it goes well with your title and genre.

However to improve, from the footages i saw in lesson, i would advise you to do something about the lighting! It was tooooo yellow!

Overall, your work is coming on really good! ( Oh yh and Kabir's acting was brilliant)

Keep up the hardwork. I can't wait to see the final thing.

WOW, your blog looks so good!Everything from the colours to the acting and music already looks effective. You've done a lot of research too-its good that you've decided on the type of shots you'll be using and experimented how to do them. Your footage is already looking quite professional, especially Kabir's bit-great acting by the way! The music also adds to the crazy look but the scene gets a bit unclear at times. Although it really does look like vivek is being tortured, i think you should give that scene a faster pace with more close ups so that even more tension is created. Other than that i cant think of what else you need to improve on so Well Done and Good Luck!

1. Your blogs both entertaining and very informative. The font you've used the blood red sort of colour, is good as it links to the title of the documentary.

2. Try to use a range of shots and effects. However avoid trying to make it look too fancy as this may lead to making the production look amateur.

1. Yourr footage luks gud im likin the blurred affects when deep is takin drugs, as well as the sound trak you have chosen, however my only critism is to make your blog look better.. add some pics in

2. Your acting is realy good..
But u could add more close up's of Vivek's scene to show more emotion, (terrified/evil expresions), also work on the lighting and make sure you can hear ur voices properly!
and also dontt goo typicall with ur background music (hip hop, rnb) i think ur music choices so far have been good *fish go deep - the cure is a good song if u want drunk/dizzy scenes lol)

Gud luck jalna xx

The blog is very informational and it has alot of research. I think that it's good that you've added alot of moving images from youtube in your blog as this makes it more interesting to viw your blog...Though I think that you guys should add some of your own fottage into it to make it be more informative and to give people a better outline of your production.

1. Another of the blogs that I feel are complete with strong, solid research and porgress reports. Also the red against the black works well as it is strong and powerful. Also other groups (including me), you have posted up your work on the blog and that really helps with analysing this blog. Really is a great blog here.

2.The only thing that I think you need to do is clearly state who plays who as a characters and maybe have a picture of that person dressed in their characters outfit. In terms of the production, excellent, just too much yellow. Also shots of each of the characters faces and expressions. In addition, the music works so well with the production and similiar with another group, their needs to be more people except Deep posting the majority of things up, its a team effort, everyone should contribute.

3. All I can really say is maybe a tense, darker, more sinister scene could be used at one point.

4. Sound effects such as the gun shot were great and I think maybe you could build up any tension by having a silent moment.

Good Luck and wish u the best 4 the whole production! :)

Are you blind? We've added three clips of our own footage. Don't comment unless you've viewed our blog properly.

1. I think your blog is very good, you’ve posted a lot of your own footage which is very good, and allows people to see what you’ve done so far – by the way nice footage.
2. May be you could post up the sound track you may be using in your production
3. From what I’ve seen, your work seems to be very good, but the point of view shot of Kabir was in was left far to long with no change in the shot or angle.
4. May be in the post production, you could have a shot of every body in the rose mob walking in slow motion at the start, and there is a voice over of the lead character, who introduces the characters.

Strong points about your blog is that the colour schemes are parallel to the context of your practical production. You guys date your comments making them nice and neat :)

Within your production, use typical, original shots, such as; close ups of the bad peoples faces and low angle shots at the dominant individuals, etc. Oh and use stereotypical props if you like..

Final Beat said...

1. the image at the top would be great if you could it as your background, i like the use of black as it gives the darkness of the mob memebers.

2. you've all wrote alot of information, and keep the viewers up to date, i have no further imporvemnets to say as it is all great.

3. i like to see that you have already edited some previews and i like the previews and would think they are great, i would like to see the imprvemnts on the previews asap.
